Back for One Special Wedding
Back for One Special Wedding
After fifteen wonderful years of writing wedding blogs for Keswick Vineyards, I had decided it was time to retire my keyboard. Fifteen years felt like a good number — full of beautiful memories, countless “I do’s,” and stories that still make me smile.
But then came Carolyn, the mother of one of our recent brides. She told me how much she had relied on my blogs while planning her daughter’s wedding and they looked forward to the day I would write about their wedding. When she said how disappointed she was that there wouldn’t be one for her daughter’s wedding, well… how could I say no to that?
So here I am, happily unretired — at least for one very special couple.
And honestly, I’m so glad I said yes.
It reminded me why I started writing these blogs in the first place — to capture not just the details, but the feeling of the day. The gentle breeze that rustles through the vines during the ceremony. The clinking of glasses under the tent lights. The proud parents watching from the sidelines, soaking in every moment.
To Carolyn — thank you for the gentle nudge. Your words reminded me how meaningful these stories are, not just for the couples, but for their families and for us here at Keswick Vineyards.
And so, with that, here is that blog!
A Touch of Home in Every Bloom
From start to finish, this wedding was a true reflection of love, family, and thoughtful design. The flowers told their story — from the Southern moss to the cascading arrangements — and Keswick provided the canvas where it all came to life on Friday, October 10th, 2025.
Lets immediately talk about the weather - perfection. The couple had buried a bottle of bourbon in true Southern tradition, and it clearly did its job. The day unfolded under sunshine and gentle warmth, giving way to cool evening air and a touch of fall crispness. The vineyard and surrounding trees were just beginning their colorful transformation, framing the celebration in a palette of early autumn golds and greens.
Catherine & Mitchell chose to be married in front of Keswick Vineyards iconic fountain. Framing the fountain were gorgeous floral arrangements on columns. Guests on the aisle had petals to throw at the end. Of course, we used that fountain to go off as our bride made her entrance and back on when the two of them shared their first kiss!
Out on the cocktail lawn, the round bar took center stage — and what a statement it made! A cascading floral arrangement draped the front like a living sculpture, perfectly framed by draped bistro lights overhead. Guest not only enjoyed delicious wines from Keswick Vineyards, but also satisfied their appetites with delicious passed appetizers.
And the flowers didn’t stop there. Even the desserts joined in on the artistry! The cupcakes were topped with frosting so realistic; it was hard to believe they weren’t actual flowers. Each one looked like it had been plucked straight from a garden — yet they tasted even better than they looked.
Adding to the magic, the mother of the bride, Carolyn, had chosen a dress that turned out to be the perfect match to the floral design — not only in color, but in the very blooms featured throughout the arrangements. Without even realizing it, she became part of the floral palette herself, and it couldn’t have been more fitting for such a special day.
Under our Aurora tent, guests were greeted by a stunning display of greenery gracefully draped along the swagged bistro lights. The florist went above and beyond, weaving in touches of soft moss that instantly gave the space an inviting, at-home warmth. It was more than beautiful décor — it was a heartfelt nod to the bride’s family vacation home in South Carolina.
Inside the tent, every table was a work of art. Velvet linens in rich, teal tones complemented the bridesmaids’ dresses, while chandeliers hung gracefully above the dance floor and head table, casting a romantic glow throughout the evening. The tablescapes — accented with candles, fruit, and even artichokes — added a whimsical, organic touch. Who knew a humble artichoke could look so elegant?
Guests also loved one very personal detail: instead of a traditional guestbook, everyone signed a Wisconsin football jersey with the number 10 — a clever nod to their October 10th wedding date. It was such a fun, memorable keepsake that reflected their personalities perfectly.
To Carolyn, thank you for inspiring me to come out of retirement to write just one more blog. And to the newlyweds, thank you for giving us another unforgettable day here at Keswick Vineyards — a day that reminded us all how love, like the vines that surround us, continues to grow more beautiful with time.

Closing out 2024 with Jean & Sammy’s Magical Wedding at Keswick Vineyards
As the sun dipped behind the Blue Ridge Mountains, Jean and Sammy celebrated their wedding day on November 16, 2024, marking a beautiful conclusion to our 2024 wedding season. Every detail of their celebration was a testament to love, elegance, and the magic of Keswick Vineyards.
Their ceremony took place in front of the stunning Edgewood Estate, a favorite choice among our couples. This location creates a moment of enchantment as our brides make their grand entrance from the vineyard, hidden from view until they begin their walk down the aisle. Jean, escorted by her father, made her appearance through the golden vines, a vision of grace and beauty. Spending those final quiet moments with Jean and her father was such a privilege, and I was lucky enough to capture a candid photo of the two, filled with emotion and anticipation.
The ceremony itself was breathtaking, with the grand Edgewood Estate serving as the backdrop for their vows. The crisp November air was filled with love, laughter, and joy as Jean and Sammy began their new life together.
After the ceremony, guests were treated to cocktails and appetizers while mingling around a grand circular bar adorned with bistro lights above. A few tiki heaters ensured everyone remained cozy as they enjoyed the relaxed elegance of the cocktail hour. Jean and Sammy’s plum-accented décor added a chic touch, from their understated welcome sign to the elegant mirror that displayed table assignments—a functional yet artistic focal point of the evening.
As guests moved into the Aurora tent, warmed by heaters and glowing with ambient lighting, they dined on a delicious buffet of expertly prepared dishes. The dessert spread was just as delightful, with treats to please every palate.
One detail that made Jean and Sammy’s wedding truly unique was the presence of Jean’s wedding dress designer, Leon, as a guest. Not only did Leon attend the celebration, but he ensured that Jean looked absolutely flawless throughout the day, keeping her stunning gown picture-perfect from every angle. Bravo, Leon—your artistry added an extra touch of magic to this already unforgettable event!
Jean and Sammy’s wedding was the perfect finale to an extraordinary 2024 wedding season. From heartfelt vows to creative themes and meaningful traditions, this year has been filled with love stories as unique as each couple. We’ve witnessed countless magical moments, shared in laughter and joy, and celebrated milestones that will be remembered for a lifetime.
As we close the chapter on this wedding season, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to every couple who chose Keswick Vineyards to celebrate their love. Your stories, style, and spirit have made this year unforgettable. Here’s to a new year of love, laughter, and happily ever after’s!

A Fusion of Cultures and Colors: Sarah & Rohan’s Wedding at Keswick Vineyards
On a perfect fall day, Sarah and Rohan celebrated their vibrant fusion wedding at Keswick Vineyards on Saturday, November 9, 2024. The Southern tradition of burying a bottle of bourbon worked its magic again, gifting this beautiful couple with radiant sunshine and autumn's finest colors as they celebrated their union, combining American and Indian wedding traditions in a display that was as breathtaking as it was heartfelt.
The couple chose to exchange vows in front of the fountain at Edgewood Estate, with the grand estate providing a timeless and elegant backdrop. Sarah made a stunning surprise entrance from the vineyard, a special moment that we at Keswick always adore. Guiding her and her father on that meaningful golf cart ride is one of those unforgettable parts of the day, a private, quiet moment just before stepping into forever. I was lucky enough to capture a photo of Sarah and her father just before they took that memorable walk down the aisle, the perfect start to their incredible journey.
One of the most striking elements of the day was the florals. Sarah and Rohan transformed the fountain into a vibrant masterpiece with a floral arrangement cascading from the water bowls, creating a living sculpture that was nothing short of spectacular. Every bloom seemed to echo the rich colors and joy surrounding them, drawing gasps from guests and creating a picture-perfect ceremony scene.
During cocktail hour, the incredible local musician Matt Johnson, who has competed on The Voice, serenaded guests, adding to the enchanting atmosphere. As the sun set and guests moved into the Aurora tent for the reception, they were met with even more color and beauty. The entrance to the tent was framed with lush florals, welcoming everyone into a world of vivid hues and cultural elegance.
Inside the tent, the décor was a feast for the eyes! Rich, bold colors filled the space, blending the vibrancy of Indian celebration with the warm tones of fall. Sarah and Rohan, dressed in stunning traditional attire, brought an energy to their reception that radiated joy and unity. Each of them had a choreographed dance with their wedding party, leading to a high-energy, dance-off-style performance that had everyone cheering. The dance floor was alive with the colorful saris, swirling patterns, and the undeniable beat of Indian music.
A fusion wedding wouldn’t be complete without a delicious blend of cultural flavors. Guests enjoyed an array of Indian dishes, each bursting with spices and flavors that delighted every palate. And the desserts were just as captivating, giving everyone a sweet taste of tradition to end the night.
This wedding was a celebration of love, heritage, and the beauty of blending two worlds. Sarah and Rohan’s day was unforgettable, filled with colors, cultures, and memories that will last a lifetime.

Shannon & Dan’s Beautiful Fall Wedding at Keswick Vineyards
Shannon and Dan couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day for their November wedding at Keswick Vineyards! Blessed with unexpectedly warm weather, it felt more like a fresh spring day than fall. Yet, the surrounding scenery made it clear this was peak autumn – the mountains and vineyards were alive with vibrant fall colors, creating a stunning natural backdrop for their celebration.
The ceremony took place right by the vineyard, with breathtaking mountain views behind them. Standing close to the vines, Shannon and Dan exchanged vows in the heart of nature's autumn masterpiece. Dan’s gift to his groomsmen added a charming and playful touch to the day; he presented each of them with a personalized bobblehead. With a photo showing this moment, you'll see Dan’s thoughtful lineup of bobbleheads on the pool table, mimicking the groomsmen standing at the altar.
Their two adorable French bulldogs, dressed as flower girls, also stole the show as they pranced down the aisle. These sweet “flower dogs” added extra joy to the ceremony, and we’ve included a picture capturing their adorable presence.
As guests transitioned into the cocktail hour, they were welcomed by a uniquely designed round blue bar. The panels featured an intricate blue pattern on a white background, adding elegance and warmth to the setting. This same design was cleverly carried over to the wedding cake, which was beautifully painted by their baker to echo the bar’s décor. Topped with a charming statue of their two dogs, the cake was a delightful blend of creativity and personal touch.
For the reception under Keswick’s Aurora tent, Shannon and Dan transformed the venue with layers of texture and style. The couple added a decal to Keswick’s wooden dance floor, creating a brown and white checkered pattern that added a fresh, unique look to the reception space. A tapestry pattern woven into the reception bar design brought everything together seamlessly, creating a cozy yet elegant ambiance that harmonized with the warm autumn day.
Textures, patterns, and natural colors were thoughtfully layered throughout the décor, blending into the season and setting perfectly. Shannon and Dan’s wedding was an unforgettable celebration of love, warmth, and the natural beauty of autumn at Keswick Vineyards.
